Dr O’Brien qualified from Glasgow University and in 1999 returned to Nothern Ireland to work as an SHO for two years in the Maxillo-facial Departments in Althnagelvin, Ulster and Royal Victoria hospitals, During which she attained her MDFS in 2000.

In 2001 Kerry became a Specialist Registrar in Surgical Dentistry in Guys Hospital London and undertook three years specialist training in oral surgery. She subsequently passed the Membership in Surgical Dentistry in May 2004 and Masters in Clinical Dentistry, with Honours, in July 2004. Kerry is on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Oral Surgery. In addition Kerry has completed an Implant Course through the International Team for Implantology. She accepts referrals from other dentists for advice and treatment in relation to oral surgery and dental implants.

Dr O’Brien is a Member of the British Dental Association, British Association of Oral Surgeons and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
